A good tuning machine should be lubricated every 3-5 years if it is in good condition and in good working order. It is always recommended that cottonbud be lightly immersed in WD40 to apply it. WD40 must be used to keep your machine running at its peak. I tested sewing machine oil and other fine oils on myself. My Reischl nearly became a history because it was so difficult to turn. If you have a teenager son, you can use nasal sebum, a colorless and natural lubricant. ![]() It’s fine to use graphite or sebum, but not both.
